Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals is a European Union Regulation that addresses the production and trade of chemicals. REACH describes where companies and governments must adhere to.
What is the scope of REACH?
All chemical substances produced or imported into the EU in quantities of 1000 kilo or more per year are covered by REACH. REACH registration only applies to substances. However, the provisions of the REACH Regulation shall apply to the manufacture, placing on the market or use of substances as such or in preparations or articles.
There are some exemptions from certain parts of the legislation. Substances used in food industry are covered by a separated EU legislation. Also natural substances are exempted from REACH registration unless they are dangerous or chemically modified.
Indupa only works with REACH registered raw materials. The declaration of conformity is included in our procedures and policies.
